Finding Balance Through Curiosity as an SAP MDG Consultant

For some people, work-life balance means slowing down. For Viacheslav Evdokimov, SAP MDG Consultant at LeverX, it means staying curious: exploring new countries, learning new skills, and staying open to change.

Finding Balance Through Curiosity as an SAP MDG Consultant

Viacheslav joined LeverX in July 2025 and was drawn to the company not only because of its strong SAP focus but also because of the opportunities it offers for growth, international mobility, and collaboration, including a direct SAP partnership.

“What I liked right away was that LeverX works on large SAP projects and continues to develop strongly in this area,” he says. “I also appreciated the international environment and the flexibility the company offers.”

That flexibility has played an important role in Viacheslav’s life. Over the last few years, he has lived in different countries, adapted to new environments, and discovered a lifestyle that combines professional development with personal fulfillment.

A mindset of exploration

Viacheslav’s love of travel did not start in childhood. Instead, it developed later as he became more interested in discovering how people live in different parts of the world.

For him, travel is not about checking into a hotel and staying in one place. It is about movement, variety, and experience — resting for a while, then heading somewhere new, then returning with fresh energy and perspective.

Living in Sofia, Bulgaria, has made that kind of lifestyle easier. With convenient access to many destinations across Europe, he enjoys planning short trips, road journeys, and seaside escapes. Some weekends are for beaches, others for cities, mountain views, or simply the feeling of being somewhere different.

This openness to new places reflects a bigger part of who he is: someone who is willing to adapt, stay curious, and keep learning.

Learning something completely new

One of the most memorable examples of that mindset came when Viacheslav was living in Turkey. While there, he decided to do something many people only dream about: he signed up for paragliding courses.

It was not a lifelong plan or a childhood ambition. He simply saw an opportunity, became interested, and chose to try.

“I wanted not just to experience it, but to learn it myself,” he says.

During the course, he trained step by step, starting with the basics and gradually moving on to solo flights under instructor guidance. For Viacheslav, the experience was both exciting and deeply rewarding.

Learning to paraglide gave him more than a new hobby. It strengthened his confidence.

“Any new skill makes you more confident,” he explains. “It changes the way you see yourself.”

That idea resonates beyond travel or sports. Whether it is mastering a technical area in SAP, relocating to a new country, or stepping out of your comfort zone in everyday life, growth often begins with the decision to try something unfamiliar.

Curiosity at work and beyond

Viacheslav also sees a connection between his personal interests and his professional mindset.

In both travel and consulting, curiosity matters. You need to be open to learning, ready to solve problems, and willing to navigate unfamiliar situations. That mindset is especially valuable in SAP consulting, where every project brings new processes, client needs, and challenges.

Viacheslav’s approach is thoughtful and hands-on. He enjoys planning routes, researching destinations, and finding the best way to experience a place — not unlike how consultants approach complex tasks: by learning, analyzing, and adapting.

This same energy has followed him throughout different stages of his life, from organizing group outdoor trips in the past to building a life abroad while continuing his SAP career.

Why balance matters

For Viacheslav, work-life balance is something that requires conscious effort.

“If you go to rest, then really rest,” he says. “You need time to recharge, clear your mind, and switch your focus back to life outside of work.”

That belief is one reason he values the culture at LeverX. He notes that the company respects personal boundaries and gives people the space to disconnect during time off. Colleagues try not to disturb each other on days off, and that culture makes it easier to truly recharge.

This kind of environment is especially important in consulting, where projects can be dynamic and demanding. Having the chance to step away, reset, and come back refreshed helps people stay motivated and sustainable in the long run.

Growing with LeverX

For Viacheslav, career growth does not happen only at work. It also happens when we explore, take risks, and allow ourselves to grow outside our job titles.

At LeverX, SAP professionals build careers on challenging projects, but they also have room to shape their own path, live internationally, and maintain the balance that helps them thrive.

For Viacheslav, that balance comes from movement, curiosity, and the freedom to keep discovering what is next.

And sometimes, it starts with something as simple as saying yes to a new place, a new skill, or a new perspective.
