required skills:

  • 2–4+ years of commercial experience in PHP development (PHP 7.x / 8.x), including modern PHP features (strict types, typed properties, attributes, enums).
  • Strong experience with at least one PHP framework (Laravel, Symfony, Laminas/Zend, or Yii2) and understanding of MVC / layered architecture.
  • Confident in working with relational databases (MySQL / MariaDB, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience working with legacy PHP codebases, including refactoring, modernization, and safe changes in production.
  • Experience designing and maintaining REST APIs, dependency management with Composer, and adherence to PSR standards (PSR-4, PSR-12).
  • Experience with Git, code reviews, debugging, and writing automated tests (PHPUnit or Pest).
  • English B2+.

nice-to-have skills:

  • Experience upgrading PHP versions in production systems (e.g., PHP 7 → PHP 8).
  • Experience with e-commerce projects (orders, payments, integrations).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Docker or containerized environments.
  • Basic understanding of frontend-backend integration (HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
  • Experience working in distributed or multi-project teams.

RESponsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain backend functionality for commercial web applications.
  • Work with existing legacy systems and participate in their gradual modernization.
  • Implement new features while ensuring production stability.
  • Design and extend REST APIs for internal and external integrations.
  • Refactor and improve existing code with a focus on maintainability and performance.
  • Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
  • Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and product teams.
  • Be part of an Agile-based, globally distributed team.
